Adventist Community Services/South Georgia (ACS/SGA) strives to follow the examples of Christ.
In South Georgia, we find that our average age is 62. Therefore, our food ministry is focused on “Elder Care” – serving those senior citizens who are struggling to pay their monthly bills. Thus, the “Food Bags for the Elderly” ministry.
If the need is made evident, ACS/SGA also provides boxes of food in an emergency situation.
To serve all those 18 and older, ACS/SGA provides the free health screening to find those who have an undetected health issue and give encouragement to seek further medical assistance.
Disasters occur whether or not we are prepared, but we must always try to be prepared. Adventist Community Services holds the MOU with FEMA and the Red Cross to be the Agency that manages the collection and distribution of donated goods. ACS/SGA works in the South Georgia region when a federally declared disaster happens.
